Streamlining and Expanding through Automated References

References are a crucial part of the hiring process - they help paint a more complete picture of the candidate as a person and worker outside of what a resume or job application can provide on their own.  However, in practice references can slow down the hiring process, as each step in the flow of information takes time - choosing and contacting the references, scheduling and holding an interview with the reference, documenting and managing the information, etc. 

Our new references functionality streamlines the process completely through the power of automation, eliminating the administrative pains of scheduling interviews and recording reference data. We also help open your database to potential new candidates at the same time.

 

Automated references, how?

Our first step is requesting the reference contact information from the candidate directly via the chatbot window. We can accomplish this while interviewing the candidate as part of a JobVet campaign or set this up as a standalone outbound reference campaign sent to qualified candidates. While chatting, the candidate enters their reference’s contact information and has the ability to submit multiple references if desired. Once this has been completed, Robo automatically sends an email and SMS to the reference’s inbox and mobile phone - there is no need to schedule or conduct an interview.  These email and SMS messages will contain an introduction and a link to a new chatbot for the reference to interact with.

The references interact with the chatbot and answer questions pertaining to their experience working with the candidate. These questions can be customized to ask anything regarding the candidate, e.g. giving a scale rating, describing work ethic, rating ability to work with others, or asking about a project/skill. This process should only take a few minutes, and once complete, all the responses will immediately be available on the original candidate’s RoboRecruiter profile. The end result is a recruiter-viewable one-pager that consolidates all of the candidate’s reference information at a glance, helping make hiring decisions just that much easier.

 

Effortlessly expand your candidate database

This new contact’s RoboRecruiter journey doesn’t have to end with providing the reference. After submitting the candidate review, we can ask the reference if they would be interested in creating a quick PALS (Position - Availability - Location - Skills) profile or searching your job database. By answering a few quick questions, this person who previously existed only as a reference can also become a new candidate in your database, ready to find new opportunities. This is just another way to strengthen and grow your candidate pool by expanding through organic professional networks.
